This weekend brought out the trail grit, summer heat, and creative endurance efforts. While most races happened on Saturday, the community energy spilled into June 1st with group runs and Global Running Day countdowns. Here’s what stood out:
🏞️ McLennan’s Grit 12-Hour — Summerland, BC
Distance: Timed (5k loops) • Top Solo: Trevor Walters ~100k
Held on scenic Conkle Mountain, this grassroots ultra tested runners over a rugged 5k loop. Kerri Dragic led the women with ~75k, while dozens of participants crossed the 50k threshold for the first time. Known for its relaxed vibe, this event emphasized community over competition.

Distance: 6h / 12h / 24h Fixed Time • Surface: Flat 500m loop
This uniquely named event lets runners clock as many miles as possible on a smooth, fast loop around Nardini Manor. Though 2025 results are pending, past years saw runners hitting 80–100k in the 12-hour. Known for its festive themes and “hamster wheel” pacing strategy, it’s an Arizona favorite.
