Ultra Weekend Recap — May 10–11
The second weekend of May brought sun-drenched roads, gritty trails, and world-class performances. Let’s break down three standout events that lit up the ultrarunning scene across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Cocodona 250 – Arizona
Date: May 6–10, 2025
Distance: 250 miles
Course: From Black Canyon City to Flagstaff across rugged Arizona backcountry
Weather: Scorching heat to alpine cold
Though it started earlier in the week, the Cocodona 250 wrapped up over the weekend. This epic point-to-point race traverses some of Arizona’s harshest terrain. Coree Woltering and Kristina Randrup both landed top-five finishes. With over 38,000 feet of vertical gain, it’s one of the most brutal footraces in North America. Official Site
